Chief Anthony D. Holt serves as President of NOBLE’s Metro Detroit Chapter and has spent decades in public safety leadership at Wayne State University. He joined the Wayne State University Police Department as an officer in 1977 and rose through the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant, and captain before becoming Chief of Police in 2008. His career reflects a long-standing commitment to campus safety, community policing, emergency preparedness, and strong partnerships across the Detroit community.

As Wayne State’s chief law-enforcement leader, Chief Holt has overseen campus and community security, emergency preparedness, and coordination with federal, state, and local law-enforcement agencies. He is a Wayne State University graduate and has completed thousands of hours of advanced and specialized training in investigations, incident command, high-risk situations, homeland security, and related public-safety disciplines. He also helped establish the Public Safety and Youth Forum and has supported initiatives focused on youth engagement, violence prevention, de-escalation, and community trust.

Chief Holt has served on numerous professional and community boards and has held leadership roles within NOBLE for many years. As President of the Metro Detroit Chapter, he continues to promote ethical leadership, professional development, community partnerships, and equity in the administration of justice while advancing NOBLE’s mission of Justice by Action throughout Detroit, Southeast Michigan, and Region IV.
