LAND OF LINCOLN CHAPTER

Chief Timothy T. Tyler serves as Chief of Police for the City of Champaign, Illinois, and as President of NOBLE’s Land of Lincoln Chapter. He joined the Champaign Police Department in June 2022 after serving as Director and Chief of the Illinois Conservation Police and completing a distinguished 23-year career with the Illinois State Police, where his leadership assignments included service as a Colonel and Deputy Director within the Division of Training and Academy.

Chief Tyler’s public-safety career spans municipal, state, and conservation law enforcement, with an emphasis on professional standards, officer development, community engagement, and organizational leadership. He currently serves as a member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and has remained active in statewide discussions involving training, accountability, and public trust. His leadership approach emphasizes accessibility, collaboration, and strong relationships between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.

In addition to his law-enforcement career, Chief Tyler completed 35 years of military service, including combat and humanitarian deployments. Through NOBLE and the Land of Lincoln Chapter, he continues to support leadership development, community partnerships, professional excellence, and the organization’s mission of Justice by Action throughout Illinois and Region IV.
